Lying in bed tonight with Paige at bedtime I got to hear about her day. Well, more specifically, her favorite part of every Tuesday and Thursday: Riding the bus from daycare to school with her little friend Tori. Recently the two girls have taken up a new trend of trading share toys and then “trading back” the next time. SO CUTE! And she never forgets. (So far). It all started when Paige brought 2 of her My Little Pony books for sharing (aka show-and-tell back in my day) and only came home with one.
I’ve been dying to hear how conversations go between the two little girls – particulary the conversation(s) related to the toy exchange…I’m piecing together something like, “I don’t have a My Little Pony book.” “Here you can have this one. And you can keep it forever.” And that was that.
The following bus ride must have included something like: “Tori, I have my Cinderella sweetheart doll for sharing today.” “I don’t have a princess. Do you want to trade for my little puppy?” “YEAH!” “Ok, we can trade back next time.” And so they did. And so they are.
That puppy was temporarily named “Ruffrey” while he stayed at our house. I think it is an adorable puppy name that Paige came up with. I also would like to re-affirm that a little plastic or stuffed puppy is the closest she will ever come…
But today’s account of conversation was a bit more humorous – but in a roll your eyes and shake your head way: “Tori, I think I might burp on you….Burp” hahahahaha heeheeheehee…. “Paige, I think I might toot on you…ssspplllhh” heeheeheehee hahahaha….”Tori, I think I might pee on your leg…psssss.” heeheehee hahahaha… Oh dear. I found myself smiling at her telling me about it though – her pure enjoyment of the whole thing is awesome, and listening to her laugh and giggle while telling me about it is priceless.
And after she rolled over and I thought she was almost asleep she rolled back over (out of the blue – but why am I surprised?)
Paige: “Did I just toot?” Me: “I don’t know, did you?” Paige: “I think I felt something.” teeeheeehee
Oh I am so documenting this for future embarassment
But that brings me to a post I had intended for last week but never got around to it…
Conversations between Jr High girls
While waiting for Paige’s dance class, the older, Jr High aged girls were coming out of their own dance class and getting their things ready to go home. The conversations between them were…ummm…I don’t know…entertaining….englightening….yes, both.
First of all, they were talking about “pods” – that’s a new fancy Glacier High School thing. No longer do we mingle in the halls and have special “Senior hall” and whatever…we have pods. And there seems to be a bit of competition/rivalry between pods.
And then we apparently have biology teachers that say that sour apple candy helps you focus and brings sour apple candies for the students to eat during tests. WHAT?
Oh…and as one girl was running upstairs to grab something…”BRB”
It’s true folks – texting is infiltrating into our vocal vocabulary.
